Pilates has its place.
But is it delivering what you actually need?

If your goal is to stay strong, maintain your independence, and keep your body healthy for the next 20–30 years, the evidence points to something Pilates alone can't deliver.

No lock-in contracts. Sessions at Coorparoo & Enoggera.

We're not here to put down Pilates, or any training method. Pilates has genuine value, and we know plenty of people who love it. We're saying this because we genuinely care about the people who walk through our doors, and we've spent 30 years watching what actually produces long-term results. If your goals are building bone density, preserving muscle, and maintaining your strength as you get older, the research is clear. We want you doing something that's actually going to get you there.

The evidence

This isn't opinion. It's research.

High-Intensity Resistance and Impact Training Improves Bone Mineral Density and Physical Function in Postmenopausal Women With Osteopenia and Osteoporosis

Watson et al., 2018, The LIFTMOR Randomised Controlled Trial

The LIFTMOR trial is one of the most cited studies in the field of bone health and resistance training. It demonstrated that high-intensity resistance training significantly improved bone mineral density, functional strength, and postural stability in postmenopausal women with osteopenia and osteoporosis, with no serious adverse events.

These are outcomes that low-load exercise methods, including Pilates, are simply not designed to produce. The mechanical load required to stimulate bone remodelling is higher than most people realise. Getting there requires progressive, coached resistance training.

Side by side

What the research actually shows.

Pilates and strength training aren't opponents, they're tools with different jobs. This is an honest look at what each one does.

AreaPilatesStrength Training (P360)
Bone Mineral DensityLight resistance, not enough mechanical load to stimulate meaningful bone remodellingProgressive loading is the primary driver of bone density. The LIFTMOR trial found high-intensity resistance training significantly improved BMD in postmenopausal women, an outcome Pilates alone cannot achieve.
Muscle Mass & PreservationBuilds muscular endurance and control, valuable qualitiesBuilds and preserves muscle tissue. After 35, most people lose 3–5% of muscle mass per decade without targeted resistance training. That loss is what drives weakness, slower metabolism, and reduced independence later in life.
Mobility & Core StrengthGenuinely excellent. This is where Pilates earns its reputation. When programmed well, strength training improves both. At P360, every session trains full range of motion, mobility and strength are built together, not separately. Both deliver
Cardiovascular HealthSome benefit, but heart rate elevation is generally limitedCompound movements and structured sessions raise heart rate significantly. For long-term cardiovascular health, this matters.
Metabolic RateMinimal impact on resting metabolismMore muscle means a higher resting metabolic rate. The effect is modest session to session, but significant over years of consistent training.
Injury ResilienceStrong for low-load rehab and body awareness, especially post-injuryStronger muscles protect joints. Coached correctly, progressive strength training is one of the most evidence-based injury prevention tools available.

How we train

Small group.
Personal coaching.

The research tells us what works. How we deliver it is what makes P360 different. Sessions run with 4–6 members and a dedicated coach, small enough that your technique is corrected every rep, large enough to train alongside people who push you.

4–6 per session

Small enough that your coach sees every rep. Large enough to train alongside people who push you.

Coached on every rep

Your form is corrected, your load is progressed, and your program evolves as you get stronger. This is what turns research into results.

Built around you

Every member starts with a movement assessment. What happens in the session is designed for your body, your history, and your goals.

Real members

In their own words.

"They go above and beyond to ensure you feel comfortable and are working to your limits, not other peoples. You can be an elite athlete or someone who is starting back after a few years off and you'll be treated the same."

"P360 has changed my life. They're more than just a gym and to them you're more than a number. My return to exercise after having a baby has been so well supported, safe and educated in the approach."

Samantha Endicott

"I've been training in gyms, on and off for 18yrs, during all those years I've never done training like Perform 360 offer before! By the 2nd week I was absolutely hooked. I've learnt so much about technique and pushing the boundaries of my potential."
